Standing with our Seniors

I have witnessed family members and those in my community struggle with the challenges posed by our crumbling healthcare system, especially in rural areas. This experience has deepened my commitment to advocate for our seniors. Our seniors have paid into systems like Social Security and Medicare throughout their lives, and they deserve the security of knowing these systems will be there to support them in return.

My approach to supporting seniors is driven by a blend of empathy and a commitment to fiscal responsibility. It’s about ensuring the robustness of critical programs and addressing the broader challenges that affect our loved ones quality of life.

  • Strengthen Social Security: Commit to supporting Social Security, ensuring it remains a robust and reliable system for seniors. Fight to allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, making essential medications more affordable for seniors.

  • Expand and Protect Medicare: Work tirelessly to safeguard Medicare, advocating for its expansion to include additional services like dental, hearing, and vision care, thereby offering more comprehensive healthcare coverage to seniors. Fight to allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, making essential medications more affordable for seniors.

  • Promote Fiscal Responsibility for Senior Programs: Dedicate efforts to reducing wasteful government spending while prioritizing funding with fiscal responsibility in mind to support Social Security and other critical programs for seniors. Introduce a public option to regulate insurance price hikes.

  • Address Senior Challenges Holistically: Tackle the broader challenges faced by seniors, including economic insecurity, rising living costs, healthcare system strains, issues in nursing homes and long-term care facilities, mental health challenges, and the impact of physical and cognitive decline. Implement solutions to enhance their overall well-being and financial stability.
